Welcome to my Photo Journal Web Site.  What you will view and read here, is a first hand accounting of my photo adventures.  If I am on the road, I post my photo adventures as I go along, usually every second or third day.  Otherwise, my postings are just a chronological accounting of my past travels and photo adventures.

I didn't take this photo of Tatiana.  I did want to pay tribute to this Siberian Tiger though, as she was sacrificed in the name of Public Safety at the San Francisco Zoo due to the apparent carelessness of three people who thought it would be great recreation to bring sling shots to a zoo. Tatiana was inspired to leap over her cage barrier and mauled all three of them, killing one.  She paid for their indiscretion with her life at the hands of apparently big game hunting, trigger happy policeman.

The Santa Cruz (California) Board Walk  photo by Jim Huffman

This is the family cat, our very own wanna be Siberian Tiger. As a kitten, she would "Spaz" out meaning she would get hyper active, running from one end of our house to the other, repeating endlessly until we got tired.  Her name was also "Spaz."  Then her name evolved to "Baby" the cat, even though her temperament was still to be very active and "Spazzy.".

Her other odd feature as a kitten, was an inability to tolerate being petted.  If you left her alone, not touching her, she would relax and cuddle on your lap.  As soon as you touched her, she would abandon your lap, instantly.  Since I was the only one with enough restraint not to pet her, she preferred my lap over the rest of the family.  She also has a "born on date" that is close to or the same as the passing of our son Tim.  We often imagine that "Baby" is the reincarnation of him. She is very good at doing that for us.  As you can observe, she also makes do as an excellent kitten mitten.
